Expectations soared on Mega Star Chiranjeevi's Acharya. Movie lovers got excited as the makers spoke about the Dharmasthali temple backdrop and Chiranjeevi playing the role of an endowments officer out to stop the scams involving the temple lands in the endowments department. Though Chiranjeevi did not play that role, Acharya is all about saving the sanctity, environment, and dharma of a temple.

The temple backdrop generated interest as Natasimha Balakrishna's Akhanda turned out to be a resounding hit. Balakrishna as Akhanda showed his power thundering 'Shiv Ka Sainik' and drove all crazy with powerful dialogues regarding Hinduism, Ahimsa, environment, saving temples, etc.

But much to the disappointment of not only the mega fans but also movie lovers, Acharya failed to do an Akhanda. Acharya failed while Akhanda flourished and the main difference is the powerful story, impactful scenes, stunning dialogues of Boyapati Srinu and stunts and breathtaking BGM. Natasimha Balakrishna singlehandedly powered Akhanda to new heights with which he breached the million-dollar mark in the USA.

Acharya despite the presence of Mega Star Chiranjeevi and Mega Power Star Ram Charan failed as Kortala Shiva came with spineless scenes, dialogues, routine elements, missing emotions, and artificial nature. Even the so-called VFX turned out to be pretty ordinary. Chiranjeevi fighting with a spear in Achaya in the climax pales in comparison to Balakrishna's Shiva Tandavam as Akhanda in the climax.
