Three Judge special bench of Supreme Court consisting of Chief Justice of India SH Kapadia, Justices Aftab Alam and KS Radhakrishnan has unanimously rejected the special leave petition filed by retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi to postpone the Allahabad High Court’s verdict on 60 year old Ramjanambhoomi (Ayodhya) - Babri Masjid title suit.

The apex court however did not specify any reason for its decision nor did it fix any date for the judgement to be delivered by the Allahabad High Court. With this, the way has been paved for the High Court to give its judgement quickly in view of the fact that one of the judges of the three member Bench, Justice D V Sharma, is to demit office on October 1, platform is set for delivery of the verdict at 3:30 pm on Sep 30.
