Will make 'final trip to Delhi on T' on Wednesday: Komati

Minister for Infrastructure and Ports Komatireddy Venkata Reddy on Tuesday stated that a delegation of elected representatives from Telangana would visit New Delhi on Wednesday for a ‘final discussion’ on the separate statehood demand with the High Command.

Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr Venkata Reddy said, “This would be our final meeting with the High Command over the Telangana statehood demand. The elected representatives will decide a future course of action after this meeting.”

The Minister added that the delegation would prevail upon the High Command over the Telangana issue and appeal it to stand by the statement made by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 9, 2009.

“We will seek a concrete assurance from the High Command over Telangana,” Mr Venkata Reddy said.

When questioned about the future course of action if the High Command’s decision on Telangana is not to their expectations, the Minister categorically said that the elected representatives are ready to submit resignations for the cause of a separate state.

“Telangana state formation is important for us. The posts are not important,” he emphatically stated.

Earlier the Minister held a meeting with the Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana at Gandhi Bhavan. The meeting is believed to have discussed the proposed delegations trip to New Delhi.
