Temples continue to remain under flood waters

Hyderabad, Oct 7 :

  Temples  supposed to be  the  abodes of  gods  are not  spared  from the  nature’s  fury. Some  Temples of historical importance are still submerged  under water in the  districts of Mahaboobnagar, Krishna  and Guntur.

Alampur  Temple in Mahaboobnagar  district  which is situated at the confluence of Tungabhadra and Krishna rivers, is a connoisseurs' delight for its unique architecture and splendour. This Temple  is also known as  Dakshina Kailasam, built by  the Chalukyas   is  still submerged under water. According to reports reaching here   water level in the  Temple  still stands  at  5 to  seven feet. Officials  are only  trying  to pump the  water out  to make it  available for the   devotees. Alampur town  in still reeling under flood waters with  6,000 people taking  shelter  in a  school. The  Kondaramaswamy and Shiva Temples at Beechupally in Mahboobnagar district were submerged for three days, the Vedadri Narasimhaswamy Temple in Jaggaiahpet mandal in

Krishna district was in deep waters for the last four days. The 1,100-year- old Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Mattapally in Nalgonda continues to be encircled  by waters.
