The country’s longest elevated Expressway named after late prime minister P V Narasimha Rao was inaugurated by Chief Minister K Rosaiah at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital near Mehadipatnam here on Monday. After inaugurating the Expressway, the CM travelled by a bus on the flyover.
The 11.6 Km expressway constructed at a cost of Rs 600 crore will be connecting Mehadipatnam with Aramgarh on Bengaluru high way enroute to the Rajiv Gandhi international airport at Shamshabad.
The four lane PVNR Expressway will not only enable the smooth flow of traffic but will cut the travel time on the route by about 30 to 40 minutes. The speed limit on the Expressway has been restricted to 60 km for vehicular traffic. Keeping in view the air passengers only cars and buses are allowed to ply on this Expressway.
Cyclists, two and three-wheelers, seven-seaters and all the goods vehicles are prohibited over the flyover.Stampede A large number of party workers turned out for the inaugural function.
