Tirupati,Oct 21: The fifth round of Kalyanamasthu under the aegis of the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) will be conducted at all the TTD Kalyanamandapams in 19 districts across the state on October 28 between 9.20 am and 9.32 am, stated TTD Chairman Adikesavu Naidu on Wednesday.Talking to media persons here, the Chairman said that the Kalyanamasthu programme would be held in flood hit districts based on the reports given by the District Collectors.He said that there was no given target and any number of weddings could be performed if the couples came forward under the Kalyanamasthu.The marriages would be conducted according to the Hindu dharma and the wedding would be performed free of cost.
“Mangalasutram” and “mettelu” to the bride and new clothes to both bride and bridegroom would be supplied and 60 relatives from both sides would be given feast on the occasion.He said the TTD performed puja for Mangalasutram and mettelu supplied to the couples on Wednesday.The couple after the marriage would be provided an opportunity to have darsan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala.Till the completion of New Kalyanamandapum, the marriages can be performed at Nada Neerajanam Vedike in Tirumala, he explained.He said all the marriages so far conducted under the Kalyanamasthu were duly registered under the Hindu Marriage Act.
