Violence continues in Telangana; protestors damage public, private property

Hyderabad, Dec 2:  For the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday,  the entire Telangana region, including the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, continued to simmer  like a cauldron as those advocating  separate state continued their agitation and damaged both public and private property.In Hyderabad city, some unidentified persons believed to be the protestors, torched two empty bogies in a rake near the watershed at the Kachiguda Railway Station. Railway officials said that some vandals entered the watershed carrying kerosene cans and doused the bogies with it.

 Later they set fire to the bogies.A group of students entered the Secretariat building and created a commotion raising slogans like “Jai Telangana” near the block housing the Home Minister, Mrs Sabitha Indra Reddy’s peshi. They were later summoned inside the Minister’s chambers, where they submitted a memorandum seeking immediate shifting of the TRS president, Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao, from Khammam to either Warangal or Hyderabad. They also demanded urgent measures to initiate the process for the formation of separate state.The unrest on the campus of Osmania University continued for the fourth day in succession on Wednesday. The students burnt the effigies of the Chief Minister, Mr K Rosaiah, and the Home Minister, Mrs Sabitha Indra Reddy, on the university campus.

They also raised slogans against both the leaders. They said they will continue their war against the ruling dispensation till separate Telangana is formed.In Parkal of Warangal district, suspected Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) activists torched a Road Transport Corporation bus. The bus got completed damaged in the fire. In Jangoan in the district, six students carrying petrol bottles climbed a cellphone tower demanding carving separate Telangana state out of Andhra Pradesh.
