Death toll in building collapse rises to 14

Hyderabad, Feb 6: With the recovery of one body from the rubble, the toll in the five-floor building under construction collapsed here on the busy Narayanaguda main road in the city rose to 14.The deceased identity is yet to be ascertained. Nearly 13 construction workers were killed and six others injured when the building collapsed on Friday. The injured were admitted to Gandhi hospital.

All the 13 victims are identified, the officials said. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has suspended three officials—assistant city planner and two section officers in this connection.Taking a serious note, the government ordered probe into the issue. The government announced Rs two lakh for the families of deceased, Rs one lakh for seriously injured and Rs 50,000 for those who suffered minor injuries.
