YSR tag to Bhimili civic body

The oldest municipality in the state, Bhimili civic body will hereafter be named after former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.

At an emergency meeting convened on Tuesday, the municipality adopted a resolution to name Bhimili after Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. The resolution was passed unanimously.

Earlier, Chief Minister K Rosaiah adopted a resolution in the State Cabinet to name Kadapa district after Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

The civic body recalled the innovative schemes introduced by Ysr such as Arogyasri, Pavala Vaddi, Abhaya Hastham, free power to the farmers, Indiramma, reimbursement of fees to the students, loan waiver for various sections and his flagship programme, Jalayagnam, under which 81 irrigation projects were taken up.
