BSNL's 3G services by month-end

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (Bsnl) Regional Manager P Sitaramajaru on Thursday said that Bsnl will launch ‘3G’ services in the State soon.

Speaking to reporters in Khammam Mr Sitaramaraju said that efforts are being made by officials to commence the services with the slogan of ‘Bsnl 3G, Faster than your thoughts at prices lower than 2G’ by March end.

Mr. Sitaramaraju said that voice call rates and video call rates would be lower than 2G call rates. He said that the data used (uploaded or downloaded) would be priced around one paisa per 10 KB. The 3G service would have superfast data transfer rates with speeds as high as 3.6 Mbps.

The evolution of the third generation in mobile technology 3G is considered revolutionary.

Bsnl 3G would enable the subscriber to experience a much richer multimedia with live TV.

Online Gaming will carry a different meaning altogether and the user can make video calls and conferencing. video and music downloads and photo and video sharing shall be at 3G speeds.

Besides, the subscriber will also be exposed to dynamically enhanced mobile services with Bsnl 3G.

Mr Sitaramaraju said that 3G Service Customer should use 3G Compatibility Equipment only to activate 3G Services.

The 3G services could be activated on phone handsets such as Nokia 3120 C, 5320, N- 81, N- 79, and E- 71, Samsung L 700, J 800, S 7330 and F 480, Sony Ericsson G 502 and W 595 and HTC Touch 3G T3232 which had  3G Compatibility would activate these services.

“3G services are available with prepaid and postpaid tariffs to new and existing 2G customers too” he added.
