The Singareni Collieries Employees Union on Tuesday donated Rs 5 crore towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to take up relief work in Rajouli in Mahabubnagar district, which was affected by Krishna floods last year.
Donating the cheque to Chief Minister K Rosaiah at his Camp office, Singareni Chairman S Narsingarao urged him to utilize the money for construction of partially damaged houses.
Earlier, each of the employees of Singareni Collieries donated a day's salary which amounted to Rs 3.5 crore for the CM's relief fund for the flood victims of Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Krishna and Kurnool districts.
