The petitioners contended that introducing a new system of weightage has totally changed the eligibility criteria for admission into MBBS and was not justified.

They argued that the new system only benefited corporate colleges. The High Court will hear the writ on August 3.

But the High Court has gave permission to the state government to conduct counseling as usual. And it told the government it should obey the orders of court after counseling.

The government also agreed to implement the court’s decision in this regard.
