Behind the Movie 1000 Abaddalu: Director Teja is a hopeless man these days with almost all of his highly anticipated projects bombed at Box Office. He joined flop hero Sai Ram Shankar and new girl Esther to promise a hilarious entertainer. Let us see, whether is this one a lie or truth?

In the Movie 1000 Abaddalu: Story begins with Sathya (Sai Ram Shankar) spoils the Pelli Choopulu of Sathya (Esther). Here on Sathya begins to narrate his flashback in a train in physically injured condition to his co-passengers. Sathya running an Ad company falls in first look love with kind hearted girl Sathya, who is already engaged to Arya (Samrat). Using all the silly and cheap techniques filled with plenty of lies, Sathya and his group of friends (Nalla Venu, Josh Ravi, Hemant etc) to finally disturb Sathya (heroine) and make her fall in love. In opposite side there is also one more Sathya’s admirer Tower Star (Naga Babu) but he too is utilized well by Sathya (hero).

Here, Sathya even gets ready to break the engagement and Arya too helps them in marriage. Very soon, Sathya (heroine) realizes the truth on manipulation, fraud done and goes away from hubby. However, story takes a turn with suicide of Sathya (heroine)’s friend Swathi (Swathi) who is raped by Minister Machi Raju (Goutham Raju). Now, Sathya wanted to investigate the case and takes help of Sathya (hero). How did they solve this case using DNA testing technique? How is Tower Star used again is the rest.

Values & Out of the Movie 1000 Abaddalu: With a simple, stupid storyline, Teja yet again proved that he is good at scripting and narration. Frankly speaking, story is worth calling a scrap but it is the characterizations and fun added to many episodes made this film a time pass fare. Dialogues of Marudhuri Raja and Teja raise instant laughs. Never to mention, Rasool Ellore’s camera work is flawless for a film of this budget. Editing misses the sharpness especially in second half with boredom added for free. Ramana Gogula’s tunes are instantly humming while background can be lot better. Production wise Chithram Movies and Sree Productions were mediocre in standards.

Performance wise, Sai was on a cake walk with charming looks. His comedy timing was immaculate and danced well in the concept based songs canned by Teja. Debutant Esther is chubby and needs to work on physique along with concentration on facial expressions. Naga Babu has although got a brief role, he steals the show with awesome timing. In fact, he single handedly drove many scenes with his presence. Good that Teja has finally tapped the potential in Tower Star, Fan of Power Star. The scene in Police station, collecting the hair sample of Goutham Raju or entry into Minister’s house generated loud laughs. Then the comedy batch of Sai has done a good job in first half fulfilling the title. Remaining Goutham Raju, Hema, Naresh, Jayaprakash Reddy, Samrat, Vizag Prasad etc have done their bit good.

Well, Teja seems to have come out from his regular mindset. He scripted 1000 Abaddalu as a thorough entertainer with only element of adding comedy. Especially, the bar scene (theory of Thaagubothulu), pre climax episode (why do people lie) are typical Teja scenes where audience can identify his spark. With a weak concept, Teja is appreciable for delivering this kind of quality output. Overall, an unconvincing climax, hollowness in second half, cheap taste of comedy going to hinder the run of 1000 Abaddalu. If you are accustomed to enjoying slapstick comedies, give it a try. Commercial run of 1000 Abaddalu depends upon the output of other rival releases.
