Behind the Movie Alias Janaki: For the first time Chiranjeevi’s maternal uncle’s son Venkat Rahul is facing the camera on Sangamithra Arts film by writing a story for himself. Let us see, what is this Alias all about?

In the Movie Alias Janaki: Son of a sincere school teacher (Naga Babu) working in a village is Janaki Ram alias Janaki (Venkat Rahul) joins GHMC as Town Planning Officer. Like father, the son is also honest and sincere towards the job following the morals and ethics. However, the values taught by his father finds no acceptance in Hyderabad with corruption and rowdies ruling here. There enters Chaitra (Anisha Ambrose) into romantic life of Janaki. At the same time, Janaki comes in confrontation with local goon Mysa (Shatru) whose eyes set on encroaching slum lands of Lal Nagar. One day, the entire slum is put under fire accident by Mysa to kill the dwellers.

Unable to withstand criminal activities of Mysa and corruption of GHMC joint commissioner Mukundam (Tanikella Bharani), hero Janaki is left with only solution to repel against them. Fighting for motives and good of society, Janaki also distances from Chaitra. But, finally good wins over evil and Janaki succeeds in enlightening the people around to win back his love and also brings a change in Mukundam.

Values & Out of the Movie Alias Janaki: Need not be necessarily that a good story will always result in a good movie and a bad story will come out as a bad movie. There are examples like ‘Alias Janaki’ which fails to arrest the attention of viewers despite having a purposeful and powerful storyline. One dialogue of ‘Ee Rojullo Neethi Gurinchi Maatlaadadam Boothu Ayipoyindi’ explains the real motive of film.

First of all, Venkat Rahul should be appreciated for showing some moral responsibility in penning the exact realistic situations of society. He has that pain sensed from inside but same could not be projected on screen. There is a lot of difference between conceptualization and execution. Alias Janaki falls completely flat in execution with confusing narration and callous screenplay. Scenes move very slow testing the endurance. Though movie is just 105 minutes span, it gives an impression of exhaustive viewing.

Performance wise, Rahul Venkat is absolute ZERO with single card expression. Neither he has charm nor energy in body language like other Mega family heroes. Better, Venkat should have struck to behind the camera works rather than testing himself as hero. His chemistry with Anisha Ambrose stood pitiful. Sub plots added to ignite the actual fire in story have become lethargic. Thanks to the presence of Shivannarayana and Tanikella Bharani who kept some scenes really interesting with their seniority.

Heroine Anisha Amrose is attractive but seems to have missed the basics of acting. Naga Babu was good while Shatru did his part well. Others have no space to talk much about. Technically, Sujit Sarang’s camera work is decent while Srijith Sarang’s editing is besotted. At some point, viewers were also confused on present and past episodes unable to find the connectivity. Then music by Shravan is melodious and well picturized. Take off is quite deviating and nothing is understood till the few minutes before interval. Just before the interval, story really picks up and second half speaks on the actual stuff of social responsibility and other principles. Commercial result of Alias Janaki is definitely doubtful because there are no entertaining elements and hardly, the message imbibed in the concept should only speak. So, even Mega Fans may not be so useful here.
