Behind the Movie Bangaru Kodipetta: Heroine Colors Swathi is a Golden Duck for many flop heroes. Like what was happened for Nikhil with ‘Swamy Rara,’ now hero Navdeep is hoping the same. Directed by Raj Pippalla, movie arrived in theaters today. Let us see, whether all that glitters is gold or not?

In the Movie Bangaru Kodipetta: Story begins on a fateful Pongal day on Hyderabad Highway where Vamsi (Navdeep) running away with four cartons of Energy Drinks accidentally shoots at Dora Babu (Fight Master Ram) and escapes in the car. Into the flashback, we need to know about three sub plots which coalesce to form the main plot.

One: Bhanumathi Pinisetti (Colors Swathi) is working in Energee Drinks Company along with Vamsi (Navdeep).  Their boss Murthi (Harshavardhan) sexually harasses Bhanu and then dismisses her. Urgently in need of money, Bhanu and Vamsi sketch a plan to rob Energee Drinks Van which also consists of Lucky Winner gold biscuits and gold coins. As they are almost to accomplish the plan, Murthi enters into the scene.

Second: Aspiring actor Venu (Santosh) from a poor family in small village working part time in a Pizza shop is kidnapped by group of goons from Bhimavaram when he is on for Pizza delivery duty.

Third: Dora Babu (Fight Master Ram) and Yerra Babu (Fight Master Lakshman), both the brothers are divided in family matters. While Yerra Babu earns money and fame, Dora Babu falls in debts to an antagonist in Bhimavaram. At one point, Dora Babu and Yerra Babu’s daughter are kidnapped.

How all three different plot devices are interweaved into one? How does it lead to Happy Ending is the rest.

Values of the Movie Bangaru Kodipetta: Director Raj Pippalla’s hard work in pre production was clearly visible in many frames. Dealing a script involved with three different stories and six to seven characters invites needless troubles into narration. However, Raj Pippalla took the flow smoothly without straining the audience. First twenty to thirty minutes, confusion builds up as on why and how the characters would be linked up. Then, second half gives a complete justification. Sahir Raza’s prudent camera work and Chandrasekhar GV’s impressive editing made the output much more delightful. Though here and there pace dropped down, Mahesh Shankar’s background score uplifted the scenes. Production values shown by Guru Films are a safe bet for this kind of a project.

Performance wise, each of them got equal screen space. That is the real secret on why Navdeep, Swathi though worked in superb rapport are equally placed in importance with Santosh, Ram Lakshman and Harshavardhan. Each of them lived up to their characters. Especially, Harsha’s cunning tactics are presented with effective characterization.

Out of the Movie Bangaru Kodipetta: The flavor of thriller genre is forever a safe bet at BO when something like ‘Swamy Rara’ happened. The same notion is carried even for ‘BKP.’ In fact, the home work on paper needed for this sort of stories is more tedious. Raj Pippalla has done that. Apparently, audiences of present time are demanding more of innovative concepts and different execution. In such aspects, ‘BKP’ is a worthwhile product which is wrapped in a very minimal budget. Commercial output in terms of collections can be enhanced if makers concentrate on aggressive promotions.

Finally, Navdeep might get a break through as Swathi, the lucky star for many struggling heroes is here in a cute look. We need to see for next one two weeks to know, whether ‘BKP’ can take the BO path of ‘Swamy Rara’ or not.

Cinejosh Verdict of Bangaru Kodipetta: Safe Bet.
