Dhada Movie Review

Behind the Movie Dhada: Two back to back hits for Naga Chaitanya have raised the expectations on this flick. Beautiful Kajal Agarwal to lead the romance with Chaitu and Devi Sri Prasad’s music in a new flavor, let us see how far director Ajay Bhuyan succeeded in increasing our heart beat?

In the Movie Dhada: Vishu (Naga Chaitanya) is a Degree pass out enjoying life in Los Angeles, America with caring brother Rajiv (Sri Ram) and his wife (Samiksha). He falls in love with Ria (Kajal Agarwal), a top businessman’s (Mukesh Rishi) daughter. Ria has everything in life except the care and love from his father and dead mother. With in no time, Vishu touches the heart of Ria and they both are in love.

In parallel, Vishu saves 100 teenage virgin girls from a trafficking deal set for sexual exploitation between underworld don Kelly (Kelly Dorjee) and local USA don RD (Rahul Dev). In their way to trace the identity and address of Vishu, both Kelly and RD loose lives of their younger brothers. 

Once Ria and Vishu decides to go for marriage, Ria’s father finds a top businessman groom Amit for his daughter. In same time, RD and Kelly succeed in discovering Vishu as none other than their Personal Secretary Rajiv’s brother. Yes, Rajiv works for RD. How did a fearless Vishu kill RD and Kelly saving his brother Rajiv? How is Amit connected to these two villains? Did Vishu win his love interest Ria? form the climax.

Values of the Movie Dhada: More than the lack of solid substance in story line, it is the stylish presentation of Ajay Bhuyan that took away spirit in movie. Script was dead weak with no pinch points to keep the audience attentive. Direction wise, except one or two scenes here and there, no where Ajay was really into his basics. Cinematography by Gnana Sekhar VS is top notch in catching the abundant locations of America and entire Europe. Especially in canning the action scenes, he seems to be an expert. Editing by Dharmendra Kakarala went obtuse in entire length. Music by DSP was better in background but songs wise total despair. Dialogues from Abburi Ravi were interesting in characterization of RD and remaining part, nothing new. Production wise, Kamakshi Kala and D. Shiva Prasad Reddy should be felicitated for pouring Lakhs and Crores from the very first scene till the senseless last scene. There is high level of lavishness and opulence seen on screen.

Performance wise Naga Chaitanya still sticked to elementary class. Neither he has expressions to emote nor does his character provide him the scope to perform. Compared to ‘100% Love’ and ‘YMC,’ this is a below standard work from him. Kajal Agarwal has got a chance to wear modern, fashionable and chic costumes in the role of a rich man’s daughter. This is entirely a new glam and angel kind of look for Kajal who was seen more often only in traditional costumes. Sri Ram is handsome, dignified and worthwhile. Samiksha is confined to three to four simple scenes. Mukul Dev is a better performer than all whose character ends on a foolish note. Kelly Dorjee and Mukul Dev were regular. Comedy by Brahmanandam got a good start but got boring, then partially entertained in second half with entry of Ali.      

Out of the Movie Dhada: Ajay Bhuyan instead of pouring his skills and resources in drafting the richness and stylish splendor with visual brilliance on the screen, he should have spent little time in building the emotions between characters. Audience are breezed away by meticulous luminosity exhibited in each frame but no where connected with the characters. Fundamental flaw from Bhuyan is his overconfidence which was clearly visible. 

‘Dhada’ might be a title apt from audience and producer/distributor point of view because we are bored for two hours and producer/distributor will be drilled for total loss of what is invested. In the company of Ajay Bhuyan even a performer like musician DSP went below his original standards. Every song was wrongly picturized with the same color format. ‘Dhada’ might please your eyes but strains the brain.

With no strength in story, script and characterizations…no wonder you go on diverse locations like Thailand, Milan, Europe and USA or anywhere outside the space, result will be shattering as what we see with ‘Dhada.’ Nothing much difference in severe physical pain of patrons in theatre for both first and second halves. They are equally tormenting. BO wise, there is no way ‘Dhada’ will stand. 

Cinejosh Verdict of the Movie Dhada: You have two options. First, this can be one more ‘Kedi’ for Shiva Prasad Reddy and secondly, one more ‘Josh’ for Naga Chaitanya.
