Global Star Ram Charan and Star Director Shankar's Game Changer has been the cynosure of all eyes ever since its announcement. Finally the film hit the screens on 10 Jan 2025 kickstarting the Sankranthi celebrations. Let us see what impact Ram Charan and Shankar who teamed for the first time, made on movie lovers with the political thriller.

Ram Charan's Game Changer: Story Review

Game Changer's story is a political thriller revolving the intense fight between an honest youngster and a politician who dreams of becoming the Chief Minister. Young Ram Nandan (Ram Charan) during his journey from IPS to IAS wields an iron whip on corrupt people sounding a deathknell and giving sleepless nights to all.

His ultra aggressive nature brings drastic changes in his personal and professional life. Where this leads to and how his lady love Deepika (Kiara Advani), Minister Bobbili Mopidevi (SJ.Suryah), Chief Minister Satyamurthy (Srikanth), Home Minister Ramachandra Reddy (Jayaram) react and what is Appanna (Ram Charan) and his wife Parvathy (Anjali) connection form the interesting part in the developments.

Shankar's Game Changer: Artists Review

Ram Charan played dual roles much to the delight of the viewers. He looked stylish and classy as IAS and IPS officer Ram Nandan. He looked young and energetic and showed variations in his expressions and emoted accordingly. He thrills all in the role of Appanna. He looked traditional and natural in the lungi clad Appanna. In both the roles he danced with ease and enacted breathtaking stunts. His dialogue delivery is perfect and top class.

S.J.Suryah elevated the role which is routine with his performance. He impresses all with his mannerisms and dialogue delivery and bodylanguage. Kiara Advani captivates with her redhot looks and oozed with glamor on the screen in the songs.

Anjali amazes all with her emotional performance. Her old look at times looked odd but she erased that with her emotional expressions.

Others like  Samuthirakani, Srikanth, Sunil, Jayaram, Naveen Chandra, Vennela Kishore, Vijaya Krishna Naresh and Brahmanandam performed according to their roles.

Dil Raju's Game Changer: Technicians Review

Director Shankar has been experiencing setbacks ever since his hit film Robot. His previous ventures Indian 2 turned out to be a disappointment and with Karthik Subbaraj providing story for the film, excitement increased over Game Changer. However Karthik Subbaraj's story offered nothing new but is full of predictable elements like IAS officer taking on the corrupt, political games and backstabbing, etc.However there are few interesting elements with few twists and interval sequence.

Shankar started the narration interestingly with political elements before assuming routine flavor. Ram Charan's introduction sequence will be a treat for the fans. The scenes of Ram Charan taking on the corrupt turns out to be just average. Few elevations are ok but some dialogues and scenes turned out to be preachy. However once the love track between Ram Charan and Kiara Advani starts, it slows the pace and ends up testing the patience of the viewers. Even the same turned out to be true for the comedy track involving Sunil and others. But the interval twist though routine sets the tone for the exciting second half. Second half connects chords emotionally with Appanna character. The character reminds one of his role in Rangasthalam. The flash back scenes generates interest increasing the curiosity levels.

But after the flashback, the narration and the screenplay turns out to be predictable. The climax turned out to be different unlike hero bashing the baddies. It may not excite anyone but the way Ram Charan talks about welfare schemes seems to be sending a message to the political parties and the society. Shankar showed the effectiveness of the election commission if used in the right and honest manner. He also sent message to the people, political parties and electoral system but had he shown that in an impactful manner it would have been more powerful.

Thaman's music is just ok but the songs picturisation is grand. Shankar showed his mark shooting the songs in a visually grand and extraordinary manner in the beautiful and exotic locations like , China, Malaysia, Cambodia and New Zealand. There are numerous people and dance movements in Ra Ra Macha song and the Dhop song is shot in a captivating manner. Dhop song has many surprise elements. Jaragandi song has extraordinary setwork and Ram Charan's dance moves drive all crazy. Arug Meega song is situational and emotional and is shot beautifully. The much publicised Naa Naa Hyraana was edited from the film.

The cinematography of Tirru is visually grand and appealing. He turned the film colorful and gave a rich feel on the screen. Editing is good. The production values are grand and topclass.

Game Changer (2024) Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Game Changer turns out to be a visually grand and powerful political thriller. Shankar showed Ram Charan in different looks and mannerisms elevating his heroism to delight his fans and he loaded the film with a strong political message to the society packing it with exciting and interesting commercial elements. The grand visuals offers full mass feast to the viewers.

Had Shankar taken little care in the screenplay and story and showed the love track in the first half in an interesting manner and political message in the second half more intense and powerful , Game Changer would have made an even stronger impact. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 2.5 rating for Game Changer.
