Kasko Movie Review.

Behind the Movie Kasko: Top leagued Director of yesteryear Kodanda Rami Reddy’s son Vaibhav was proved as a dud with his debut “Godava” and later “Saroja”; Swetha Basu Prasad, the bubbly milk babe of “Koththa Bangaru Lokam” has proved that she is the sweet actress to look on. Coming to Director Nageshwar Reddy, he is a familiar name with small and medium budgeted comic entertainers. Here comes the combination of all these three during the times when the state is reeling under Political crisis and of course Merry Christmas.

In the Movie Kasko: Pawan Kalyan aka Vamsi (Vaibhav) meets Mahesh Babu (Brahmanandam) on his journey to Hyderabad. Both of them share the same feeling of removing the rowdism from the map of Hyderabad. Both of them start their hunt for goons in the city and clear them. Although Mahesh Babu was only meant for comedy, Vamsi is here in the city to get his lover Krishnaveni (Swetha Basu Prasad) who is kidnapped by Basavanna Dora (Pradeep Rawat) and kept hidden in Warangal.

Coming to flashback of our hero Vamsi, he is a go happy guy in Vishakhapatnam with his gang of three friends (‘Satyam’ Rajesh and others). He falls in love with Krishnaveni at first sight and at last when the time arrives for Krishnaveni to reciprocate her love, she is kidnapped for a reason that Basavanna Dora’s son was killed accidentally in the hands of Krishnaveni. Now villain Basavanna Dora is on a mission to marry Krishnaveni and make a family with her so that she would give birth to his dead son (useless logic).

One by one clearing all the hurdles Vamsi reach the house of Basavanna Dora and play a game to take back her lover. Did he succeed? How did Mahesh Babu help him? What happened to Basavanna Dora? form rest of the climax.


Values of the Movie Kasko: Hero Vaibhav lacks the energy to go for heavy and powerful dialogues. Most of the time, he tried to get into the shoes of Pawan Kalyan. Although he was good in daces and fights, he needs to develop a lot of diction in dialogue delivery to make an impression as a mass hero. Swetha Basu Prasad is pretty in look, good at acting and wonderful in last song with some mass movements. Gowri Pandit has done a song and a small inconclusive character in first half, but dubbing done for her was very bad.
If there is something to talk more about this Kasko, then it is BRAHMANANDAM. Most of the first half and even second half, Brahmi has pulled out good laughs. Kasko may not be called as a laughing riot but Brahmanandam is sure the saviour of the movie, while his track travels on the same lines of “Krishna,” “Ready” and “Anjaneyulu.” Same do apply for Jayaprakash Reddy and Raghu Babu, who provided their own share of laughs.

Story Screenplay and Direction by Nageshwar Reddy is a mix masala of many movies and many story lines. There is nothing innovative in narration, except few comedy bits here and there. The flashback episode which needs to create a big impact in second half looked pale and dim with low drama content. Instead of keeping too many action episodes, it would have been better if Nageshwar Reddy concentrated a little more on the flash back which is a connecting thread for whole of the movie story. Music by Premji Amaren was good for last peppy number while background looked routine. Akhilan’s photography is also a regular work. Editing by Praveen Srikanth is straight and simple with no complexity. Production values of Bharathi and Suneel Reddy are good.

Out of the Movie Kasko: Vaibhav may come out with few strong positive points like dances and fights. On the other side there are many drawbacks which are to be corrected. It is a disappointing element for beauty lovers and a blunder from Director as Swetha Basu Prasad enters the movie only in second half. On the whole Nageshwar Reddy’s fort of comedy may satisfy some section of audience, when it comes to content of the movie and presentation, the track was lost. If first half goes everything predictable, second half has boring moments with too many action episodes jumping and bumping in air. Brahmanadam is the only savior of this Kasko undoubtedly.

Cinejosh Verdict of the Movie Kasko: An average movie with a beaten story line but with good comedy which may entertain mass audience.
