Behind the Movie NNPV: The only names of Charmi and Jagapthi Babu along with an interest generating title are the pulling points for this movie. With this lead pair requiring a strong hit to come back, let us see how far this flick will help them?

In the Movie NNPV: Niharika (Charmi) is an enlightened citizen and a journalist working for C News Channel run by a selfish businessman cum managing director (Ahuti Prasad). This girl with self respect is treated with gender inferiority both by boss at office and father (Paruchuri Gopala Krishna) at home. By the idea of colleague Supraja (Supraja of I News Channel), Niharika goes out on a night searching for sensational news.

Accidentally she gets a video information on how a villain politician with in the ruling Government is planning a coupe against present Chief Minister. Trying to unravel the news, she is chased by goons of villain politician. Then arrives the bewars hero Shiva Ramprasad (Jagapathi Babu) saving Niharika from corrupt cops and dreadful goons. Soon they fall in love. What kind of situations did she face in this one night is one phase of the story.

On other side, the secret video picturized by Niharika is sold for Rs.100 Crores by the channel’s managing director directly to the villains. Times when Niharika plan to take this information to high level Government authorities, she faces troubles from politicians, media men and others. How Niharika with the help of college youth brought awakening change in the mind set of people? How common people reacted to Niharika’s call thus punishing the corrupt politicians form the climax.

Values & Out of the Movie NNPV: As tag line of the film mentions, ‘Idi Janam Cinema,’ surely this is story of the present society. Deen Raj’s story is elaborative touching the current politics, corrupt officials, dishonest media, careless society and helpless people. Fortunately dialogues from Paruchuri Brothers are also satirical with information and enlightenment. Unluckily it is the script and direction of Prem Raj that made movie unimpressive. Direction hasn’t complimented to the efforts put by story and dialogues department. Cinematography of Rajiv Nair and editing by Marthand were also very weak. Music by Yasho Krishna was good for two songs while background was quite a big mismatch. Production values of Gurudeva Creations and Nandi Sreehari was absolutely low standards.

Performance wise characters like Niiharika are a cake walk for Charmi. She took the responsibility of shouldering the movie on her shoulders. Jagapathi Babu got a short span (can be called as guest role) and he is no different. He is just used for the sake of songs and love angle in the story with no proper ending for his character. Ahuti Prasad, Uttej, Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Supraja, Satyaraj and others are just okay.

When our entire country and state are reeling under political irregularities, need of the hour is a change in mindset of people. A catalyst is needed to awaken the self respect of people. Director was totally confused and failed in igniting the brains of audience with this kind of powerful story in hand. He made the entire plot confusing with too many sub plots that where left inconclusive. Prem Raj even failed to extract the performances from lead artists except the villain politician (name unknown).

First half went on slowly showing the real time mid night scenarios in Hyderabad (inclusive of pub culture, drug sellers, prostitution, police mamools etc). Although chemistry between hero and heroine is not fine tuned, second half is still clumsy with speed and uninspiring explanation leading to an unconvincing climax.

If sufficient budget and significant performances were added to this kind of story line with Paruchuri Brothers dialogues, NNPV could have got a better output. For now, there is no chance for a BO success. Charmi and Jagapathi Babu are to still wait for a success.

Cinejosh Verdict of the Movie NNPV: Awakening Concept – Sleeping Narration.
