Ninnu Kori Review, What’s Behind:

Natural Star Nani is wisely picking the scripts and enjoying decent grossing films cementing his position. This time he joined hands for second time with Gentelman partner Nivetha Thomas and also has Aadi Pinishetty playing the second lead in debutant Shiva Nirvana direction, produced by DVV Danayya. Amidst speculations that Ninnu Kori is a rehash of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, let us see what the movie is all about?

Ninnu Kori Story Review:

Beautiful married couple Pallavi (Nivetha Thomas) and Arun (Aadi Pinishetty) is making a happy living in USA. One day Pallavi receives a phone call about Uma Maheshwara Rao aka Uma (Nani) landed in USA and is in a disturbed state of mind addicted to alcohol. As Pallavi runs to meet Uma at his friend’s house, flashback rolls on. 

How a Ph D student Uma and Pallavi fell in love? How a career oriented Uma’s decision led to their separation and when did Pallavi marry Arun closes the flashback.

Into the present, Arun and Pallavi invite Uma to stay with them for ten days just to make him realize how happy couple they are? In the process, Uma also absorbs the value of life and takes a final decision.

Ninnu Story Artists, Technicians Review:

Not just storyline, locking the audience interest lies in etching a proper screenplay with strong establishment of characters. Debutant Shiva Nirvana has chosen a simple and beaten theme largely inspired from EVV Kanyadanam or Bhansali Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. But, it’s the way whole concept is treated beautifully in USA backdrop and presented intensely in between three gifted artists made the show look refreshing. Kona’s screenplay is very clean and neat. Direction wise, Shiva could have picked up the pace of film at least occasionally instead of keeping it dry throughout. Yet when it comes to expressing the emotions, his writing skills supported by artists took the feel to a next level.

Karthik Ghattamaneni’s camera work is biggest asset. He maintained a sober mood securing the audience to glue at screens. Prawin Pudi’s editing is slightly sluggish trying to retain the feel. Gopi Sunder yet again scored thumbs up background music and couple of melodies haunts us for a while. Production standards from DVV Danayya are top notch.

Onto performances, Nani deliberately controlled his energy levels to project himself as a struggling Ph D student in first half and opened his natural spontaneity in timing the comic punches making second half to become lively. Especially, the one lengthy climax shot sets high standards for Nani as a superb artist. Nivetha Thomas is an expressive heroine whose eyes speak more than words. She had a balanced act in between two male leads. Aadi Pinishetty is adequate as an NRI with his subtle body language and dialogue delivery. His character gains real strength in climax joining many loose ends. Murali Sharma, Prudhvi evoked few laughs. Rest may not need a big mention.

Ninnu Kori Review, Rating Analysis:

Box Office formula in Tollywood continuously changes its form. Instead of catering a hit film satisfying all the sections of audience, young directors are aiming at one particular section of Telugu community and serve their demands. Shiva Nirvana has done a right thing by designing a classy framework for Ninnu Kori distancing himself from masses and lower class audience.   

Beginning first half with mellifluous song, Shiva directly took us to introduction of three main leads. Aadi, Nivetha are established as a wonderful married couple. Nani’s introduction with a beard Devadas look is curiously interesting. In no time, flashback takes us to Vizag. Here the romantic track appears feeble with regular episodes. Murali Sharma, Prudhvi though added some entertainment, reason for Nani and Nivetha’s separation hasn’t got any solidarity. Interval block is a clear domination from Nani as he becomes guest for Nivetha, Aadi.

Second half is smartly buoyed between the three with couple of interesting episodes and thus comes in Murali Sharma, Prudhvi. One episode of Nani’s Hum Aapke Hain Kaun act in shopping mall and Prudhvi’s comparison of concept with Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam were dappled. Rather than going for a heavy duty drama based climax, Shiva sensitively bought in a new female character pivoting the closing portions on Aadi’s sincerity at his wife Nivetha. How can the film end without Nani’s mark as the ending part is commanded by his natural charm!!!

In totality, Ninnu Kori is a clean and slow film with average first half and good second half. Plot is though routine, Shiva Nirvana succeeded in using his artists, technicians to the fullest in preaching a new love and life philosophy. Commercially, Ninnu Kori might have a decent run in Overseas and metros while there’s everything to disconnect for lower order centers. Cinejosh goes with 2.75 stars rating for Ninnu Kori recommending a safe watch for family audience.
