Behind the Movie Oohalu Gusagusalade: Ashta Chemma is the film which bought Avasarala Srinivas into limelight. He is now turning director for this flick produced by Sai Korrapati of Varahi with beautiful pairing of Naga Shourya, Rasi Khanna and music by Kalyan Koduri. Let us see how good their whispering is?

In the Movie Oohalu Gusagusalade: Story begins with introduction to UB TV channel office where in the Creative Head Uday (Avasaral Srinivas) picks Venkateshwarlu (Naga Showrya) for the job of news reader. However, there are a lot of hurdles to Venkat and here starts an interesting conversation with his boss Uday on his love story in Vizag happened in 2009.

Venkateshwarlu comes to Viazg for summer vacation falls in love with Delhi based girl Prabhavathi (Rasi Khanna). At a time when their friendship is sailing smoothly, a hurried Venky proposes her only to face rejection. Nevertheless, Prabha still has those romantic feelings for Venky in some corner. Fast forward to present, Prabhavanthi is the same girl whom Uday is willing to marry. Knowingly and unknowingly, Venky starts helping his boss to impress Prabha just to fulfill the dream of becoming a news reader. What happened finally?

Values & Out of the Movie Oohalu Gusagusalade: Proved to be a talented comedian, Avasarala Srinivas?s urge to direct a film is fulfilled. Necessarily, his passion towards making a good flick in a simple budget was visible. Although screenplay is feeble, he managed the game with witty verbal play especially dialogues written for those episodes of Uday impressing Prabha with Venky using the blue tooth have done the trick. Direction wise Avasarala being the first timer, his efforts were genuine. Keeping the flow of story a bit tardy, cinematography of Venkat is astonishing and Kiran Ganti?s editing is a laggard. Yet again, Kalyan Koduri oozed life into the scenes with music full of soul. Sirivennela and Anant Sreeram?s lyrics stood out in literary sense. Production values from Sai Korrapati are also quite neat.

On performance front, Avasarala Srinivas runs away with top credits. Continuing the kind of slang, timing and modulations which are used in ?Ashta Chemma,? here too Avasarala induced lot of humor. Naga Shourya looks like a talented guy with sharp features of becoming a recognizable artist. Rasi Khanna is beautiful and was sober throughout. Pairing of Rasi and Naga is picture perfect. Of the rest, Posani generated some laughs. Pragathi, Sathya Krishna etc did their portions well.

Technically speaking, Avasarala has shown his creative sense and literary touch with the very first attempt. It?s the deadly slow pace of narration irks the audience. That?s the problem with in plot and the magnitude of production cost offered would have forced the content to just traverse with fun and drama between only three characters and four locations. Most important was to maintain the feel and Avasarala managed it well. Whole credits to the writing ability of this lean man. The way he cuts words, paragraphs to arise with a new meaning is the quality of a litterateur. Overall, for class and metro audience there is something to feel happy about the film. For front benchers, you have nothing to whisper about. OG might give a needed recognition to Avasarala but on commercial front, we need to wait and see.
