Small film Patang featuring newcomers is capturing the imagination of all ever since, Suresh Productions decided to collaborate with them. Let us see how the film entertained movie lovers in the theatres.
Patang story revolves around two childhood friends and how their lives change with the entry of a beautiful girl. Arun (Pranav Kaushik) and Whisky (Vamsi Pujit) lead a happy life ever since they become friends in their childhood.
Their life however changes completely with the entry of beautiful girl Aishwarya (Preethi Pagadala). Where this leads to and what role their friends Pencil (Gaurav Sunil), Shiva (Rajeshwar Vemula) Rambo (Vishal Silveru), Basha (Venkatesh), Lakshmi (Vishika), Kiwi (Kivish Vadlamani) Arun's sister Aditi (P.Vignani), his parents (SP.Charan, Anu Hasan), Whisky's parents (Sivannarayana, Bindu Chandramouli), sister (Shravani Yarlagadda) played and what are the consequences and how it is related to Kite Flying competition form the interesting part.
The film stars many new comers. Pranav Kaushik, Preethi Pagadala, Vamsi Pujit played the lead roles. Pranav Kaushik and Vamsi Pujit showed good expressions and emotions according to the situation. Preethi Pagadala played the role of the girl who is indecisive in a convincing way. All of them delivered dialogues with ease showcasing their acting talent.
Gautam Menon played an important role and he came up with good dialogues especially during the pre climax. Others like Gaurav Sunil, Rajeshwar Vemula,Vishal Silveru,Venkatesh, Vishika, Kivish Vadlamani, P.Vignani, SP.Charan, Anu Hasan, Sivannarayana, Bindu Chandramouli,Shravani Yarlagadda did justice to their roles.
Patang story is penned by Praneeth Prattipati. He came up with a youthful story to connect chords with the genex movie lovers. He starts the narration in an interesting manner. He included youthful elements in a natural and realistic way to connect chords with the viewers.
The first half sails off smoothly with friendship, love and entertaining elements setting the stage for the second half. The second half is loaded with emotional elements and it slowed the pace of the narration. The story picks up pace in the runup to the pre climax and climax. the Kite flying competition is shown in an interesting and exciting manner.
The songs tuned by Jimmy James are youthful, foottapping and melodious. The songs are choreographed in a beautiful manner and are shot in a visually appealing way. The background music took viewers into the narration in a soulful and soothing way.
Shakthi Arvind's Cinematography turned the scenes colourful and added value to the narration. The editing of Chanakya Reddy Toorupu is good and he could have done away with few drags.
Dialogues are good, natural and realistic . Dialogues are witty and funny most of the time and thought provoking during the pre climax. Production values are good as per the standards.
Altogether, Patang turns out to be a decent Youthful entrainer. Praneeth Prattipati on debut came up with a lighthearted youthful entertainer and he emerged successful with his screenplay and direction managing to attract viewers for most of the time. The necomers did full justice to their roles. Though the story is simple, he with his screenplay managed to entertain viewers. He came up with a decent script and executed it on screen quite well. There are few drags here and there but that can be ignored for the sincere attempt. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2.5 rating for Patang.
