Behind the Movie Ram Leela: Youngsters Havish and Abhijit are struggling to make a mark. They have teamed up with successful Nanditha and debutant director Sripuram Kiran under the production of Dasari Kiran Kumar. Let us see, how magical is this Leela?

In the Movie Ram Leela: Story begins with Krish (Abhijit) working in USA arrives in India falling in love with Sasya (Nanditha), watching her on TV. In one song, Krish parents (Anita Chowdary, Srimannarayana) meet Sasya parents (Nagineedu) and they are entered into wed lock. Next they plan Honeymoon in Malaysia where things go wrong. Sasya escapes from Krish in search of her boyfriend.

In a hopeless situation, Krish goes on a road trip to meet Ram (Havish) en-route. How is Ram connected to Sasya? What is the final ending for the lives of Ram, Krish and Sasya is the rest.

Values of the Movie Ram Leela: To begin with Sripuram Kiran, he had adequate age-old content to make a typical Telugu film. However, he did not show any skill to execute a lackluster script. Everything was feeble, may it be the scene execution or exposure of content. Except the lavish investment from producer and a good cameraman, Kiran did not have any major advantages in the team (including him-self). Narration went on pathetic lines with scene by scene arranged insensibly. Especially episodes of Sapthagiri, Ali, Nanditha and Havish-Abhijit rotated in a cyclic order showed the ludicrous approach of director in first half. Neither there was fun nor a tight emotion to connect with viewers. Direction wise, Kiran is an absolute lapse.

Thanks to the professional camera work of Gopal Reddy in catching the beauty of Malaysia which at least made the film bearable to certain extent. Editing by Karthika Srinivas is a big boo-boo. Chinna’s music has done a vast damage. None of the tracks are hummable and BGM was a bit better.  Vissu’s writing skills are not as lenient as other departments. Production values of Ramadoota Creations are perceptible.

On performance front, Havish has uncommon and exclusive voice baritone. The shallow, inexpressive body language killed the only and only one advantage in him. His comatose acting skills can damage any easy character offered. Abhijit is nothing less than Havish. He looks totally plastic missing in basic principles to be followed while acting. For the first time, Nanditha picked a wrong offer. With a weak male casting, she could have been show stealer with minimum efforts. However, Nanditha never seemed so. Sapthagiri and Ali are totally wasted in empty comedy tracks. Aksha, Bhanu Chander, Nagineedu, Anita Chowdary, Srimannarayana and others are for namesake. Item song by Madala Sharma wasn’t alluring.

Out of the Movie Ram Leela: Like a Genius Havish, entire team of Ram Leela is dominated with Geniuses. Basic concept chosen by Sripuram Kiran was more than enough to go on a smooth journey. However, the drive is mundane as every bit of story is executed flatly without any emotion. First half is a big letdown. There is no proper finishing for majority of scenes. Abnormal and abrupt treatment was clearly visible. Interval block is again poorly conceived. Second half begins on a promising note. In no time, Kiran falls back into his own confusion. By the time of climax, nothing is left to console. If at all Gopal Reddy missed in camera department, Kiran may not have arranged for the release. Such is the level of quality, cinematography added to the film.

Commercially, Havish and Abhijit aren’t the faces to sell big. Exhaustive promotions helped the film to an extent. We need to wait and see for the final verdict of audience.
