SWAG (2024) Movie: What's Behind

Sree Vishnu is creating a niche for himself doing different genre films and role and he is now getting ready to entertain movie lovers with Swag. The film is releasing today and excitement is on as Sree Vishnu teamed with Hasith Golli. The duo earlier scored a hit in form of Raja Raja Chora. Let us see how Sree Vishnu entertained movie lovers. The film's OTT rights have been bagged by Amazon Prime.

Swag Telugu Movie: Story Review

Swag story is all about various people trying to own the treasure of their ancestors and in the process the difficulties they face and how they overcome. SI Bhavabhooti (Sree Vishnu) who is in need for money gets a letter about treasure owned by his ancestors belonging to Swaganika Clan. He tries his best to own it but he needs to submit the proof and even as he tries to find them, things get complicated with the entry of other players, like independent girl Anubhuthi (Daksha Nagarkar).

Where this leads to and who owns the treasure and how it is connected to Vinjamara Clan queen Rukmini Devi (Ritu Varma), King Bhavabhooti (Sree Visnhu), Revathi (Meera Jasmine) wife of SI Bhavabhooti, Singareni (Sree Vishnu) lover of Anubhuti, Yayati (Sree Vishnu) and Vibhuthi (Sree Vishnu) form the interesting part of the narration.

Sree Vishnu's Swag Movie: Artists Review

Sree Vishnu delivers a tour-de-force performance, captivating audiences with his masterful portrayal of four distinct characters. He effortlessly transforms between roles, each marked by unique mannerisms, body language, and dialogue delivery, showcasing remarkable range in his expressions and emotions.

Ritu Varma's powerful introduction unfortunately fizzles out as the narrative unfolds. Daksha Nagarkar shines as a strong-willed modern girl, while Meera Jasmine delivers a composed performance. Saranya Pradeep fulfills her role adequately. Supporting actors, including Ravi Babu, Sunil, and Goparaju Rama, contribute effectively to the ensemble cast.

Ritu Varma's Swag Movie: Technicians Review

"Swag" boasts an intriguing concept, penned by Hasith Goli, aiming to deliver both laughter and a potent message. Sree Vishnu's captivating performance keeps viewers engaged in the first half, despite its slow pace, setting the stage for a compelling twist at the interval.

The second half takes a serious turn, filled with emotional scenes, which might surprise audiences expecting more lighthearted entertainment from Sree Vishnu. While his acting remains stellar, the heavy emotions, combined with a convoluted screenplay, slow pacing, and repetitive scenes, ultimately hinder the film's enjoyment.

Hasith Goli's direction is competent, while Vivek Sagar's music fails to leave a lasting impression. The songs lack appeal, though his background score is effective. Vedaraman Sankaran's cinematography provides a rich visual experience, but Viplav Nyshadham's editing could have been sharper, as some scenes drag the narrative. Production values are commendable.

Overall, "Swag" suffers from a flawed screenplay and a shift in tone that may disappoint some viewers. Despite Sree Vishnu's exceptional performance and the initial promise of a compelling concept, the film's execution ultimately falls short.

Swag Movie: Advantages

  • Sree Vishnu
  • Concept

Swag Movie: Disadvantages

  • Confusing Screenplay
  • Too many drags

Swag (2024) Telugu Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Swag turns out to be flick where unique line gone wrong. While Hasith Goli aimed for a captivating viewing experience with Sree Vishnu's multi-faceted performance and unexpected twists, "Swag" ultimately faltered due to a convoluted screenplay that left viewers bewildered. Despite the actor's commendable effort in portraying multiple roles and donning diverse appearances, the story's confusing narrative overshadowed the potential for a compelling film. As a result, Cinejosh awards "Swag" a rating of 2.25, reflecting the disappointment stemming from the screenplay's shortcomings.
