Behind the Movie Tiger: Hero Sundeep Kishan is trying all the best ways possible to establish himself as a mass hero. In combination with Rahul Ravindran, Seerat Kapoor and director VI Anand, the film has hit screens today. Let us see, how far it roared?

In the Movie Tiger: Story begins with a deadly accident for Vishnu (Rahul Ravindran) in Varanasi. He is rushed to hospital and en-route Vishnu narrates his flashback. Vishnu and Tiger (Sundeep Kishan) are close friends and also orphans. While Vishnu is adopted by a childless couple, Tiger grows up in the same orphanage center ran by a humanitarian (Tanikella). Vishnu falls in love with Ganga (Seerat Kapoor) belonging to an affluent family in and around Varanasi. However, Tiger does not like Vishnu distancing from him for the sake of a girl. Twist in the tale comes when Ganga’s family decides to close Ganga and Vishnu in the name of honor killings. How Tiger saves Vishnu and his love Ganga is rest.

Values of the Movie Tiger: Story of the film mainly speaks about importance of friendship and love. In fact, the script of VI Anand showcased Rahul Ravindran as the central pillar but it was heroism from Sundeep Kishan justified the title of Tiger. Direction wise, Anand could not add any humor elements in script with plenty of loopholes diluting the point. Characterizations lack emotional value and behave artificially with many of the first half episodes left a pale impact. Best part to save the film is awesome cinematography of Chota K Naidu. Selection of locales and placement of camera angles are just superb. Even SS Thaman left a wonderful impact with thumping background score, although main score in the songs is a weak work. At the same time, writing did not match the quality and many lines were redundant. Production values of NV Prasad, Tagore Madhu and NVR Cinema are so high.

About performances, Sundeep Kishan gave his best shot with mass mannerisms and spilling of energy. Basic drawback is, he couldn’t lift the friendship chemistry with Rahul Ravindran as episodes involving Sundeep, Rahul and Seerat are breached and pasty. In total, he is below par from the best he can. Dances and stunts wise, Sundeep is fine. Rahul Ravindran’s chocolate boy image helped the innocence in his role. He is a good pick. Seerat Kapoor, the curly haired beauty isn’t stunning. She has no scope to perform. Among the rest Sapthagiri, Thagubothu Ramesh and others are just passable.

Out of the Movie Tiger: Basic plot of the film speaking on noble values of friendship is an encouraging one. However, director VI Anand could not infuse the needed life into story and characters. His touch towards the end with Honor Killings is also fine but it was late by then. The message sent to human kind through the character of Kaushik is quite appreciable. Apparently, the poor scripting of VI Anand has done the big damage and it is only by the time of pre climax cum climax, Sundeep Kishan’s performance attains a value.

All in all, ‘Tiger’ showed Sundeep Kishan in a new dimension with a good story element. It was the problem with execution and emotional connectivity with viewers drowned the film down. Commercially, we need to wait for the audience judgment.

Cinejosh Verdict: Story of Friendship and Love.
